WEEKLY LEARNING JOURNEY- WEEK COMMENCING 23rd November
The class will be practising their writing skills and also bringing some Christmas cheer to the nearby care home over the next two weeks! We will be looking at the key features of letters and working on a letter to Santa as a class. We will then move onto writing letters to send to the elderly people to put smiles on their faces.
We continue with dividing this week. We will be using the skills that we have learnt over the past two weeks to solve tricky word problems.
We are looking at living things this week. We will study what makes something living and how to categorise living things.
We will move on with our history topic of The Stone Age this week by making our own cave art to go on display outside our classroom. We will learn what the Stone Age people drew on their cave walls.
We will be continuing our topic on basketball this week. We will be learning the skils of tackling and shielding the ball.
Here are some key points that you will need to know at the beginning of the year.
There is a big change within the school regarding PE this year. Your child will be able to come to school and leave school wearing their PE kit on their PE days. My class will be doing PE on Tuesdays and Fridays so please send your child into school wearing their PE kit. The correct PE kit consists of-
A yellow top, black shorts and pumps/trainers. For outdoor PE kits, please have tracksuits or jogging bottoms and long sleeved tops.
Your child will be given a brand new reading diary on Monday 14th September. Reading at home is vitally important to the education of every child. Can you please encourage your child to read with you at least 4 times per week.
